Hifz (Quran Memorization)

At Hifz Suleymaniye UK, we are committed to nurturing a deep connection with the Quran. The hifz program forms the core of our curriculum, where students embark on a transformative journey to memorize the entire Quran. Our dedicated teachers, well-versed in Quranic sciences, employ effective teaching methodologies to guide students through this noble pursuit. With a structured and systematic approach, students receive individualized attention and support as they memorize and perfect their recitation of the Quran. Our goal is not only to help students memorize the words of the Quran but also to instill a profound understanding of its meaning and the ability to apply its teachings in their lives. Through the hifz program, our students develop a lifelong relationship with the Quran, becoming carriers of its wisdom and ambassadors of its values.

Fiqh

As part of the fundamentals of Islam it is fard upon every mu’min to know their deen. Fiqh provides clear guidance on how to lead a good and meaningful life in accordance with Islamic teachings. It answers questions about how to conduct worship and religious rituals, how to deal with family matters such as marriage and divorce, and how to conduct business and commerce in a just and equitable manner.

The teachings of Fiqh in hifz Sulaymaniyah are according to Hanafi madhab, we base our teachings of Fiqh according to imam Azam’s teachings and his followers.

Kitabah

Beautiful writing is the aesthetics of Islam. Seen in most historical artifacts, kitabah is the decoration and the commodity that is foremost seen or acknowledged in Islam. The writing style (font) we teach in Hifz Suleymaniye is Rik’ah.

Rik’ah is the name given to a smooth, round and agile type of Nesih and is the most used cursive form of Arabic letters.

This handwriting format simplified to save time and space during the writing of things that were brief. The letters are either unconnected or linked. In the Middle Ages, rik’ah, which was most widely used in Muslim countries, later gained superiority over other handwriting forms in Turkey and in Arab countries except Iran. It was generally used in the writing of documents called ijazah (graduation certificate or diploma). Today, a few calligraphers still work with rik’ah.

It is the font used for daily correspondence, letters and manuscripts during the Ottoman Empire Period and was first used by the Ottoman Empire.

Character education

Character Education is the wider personal development of a child beyond the academic education they receive in school. It aims to instil in pupils several key characteristics and values such as resilience, honesty, motivation and humility, all with Ayahs and Hadiths of which will help them in their adult lives.

Students will develop care and respect for themselves and others through Character Education. This important part of education is all about equipping students with skills that will set them up for successful adult lives.

Morals and values of our Deen are key parts of character education. Students will learn about considering right and wrong, making informed decisions, exercising empathy, and reflecting on their thoughts and actions, all with past stories from the prophet’s lives, Ashab kirams lives and experiences lived by the past Avliya Ullah. These skills will help students consider:

  • what role they play in their community

  • how they can contribute to society

  • how they belong in their community

Tajweed

At our Islamic hifz boarding school, we emphasize the importance of Tajweed, the proper recitation and pronunciation of the Quran. Tajweed classes are an integral part of our curriculum, where students learn the rules and principles that enhance their recitation skills. Our experienced teachers guide students in mastering the correct articulation of letters, pronunciation, and the application of Tajweed rules to ensure the beauty and clarity of their Quranic recitation.

Islamic Etiquette

We believe that character development is an essential aspect of Islamic education. In our Islamic Etiquette classes, students learn the principles of good conduct and proper behavior according to Islamic teachings. Through practical examples and discussions, students explore topics such as manners, respect for elders, kindness, honesty, humility, and other virtues emphasized in Islam. These classes aim to cultivate a strong moral compass and instill in students the values necessary for them to become responsible and compassionate individuals.

Life of the Prophet

Studying the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is a key component of our curriculum. Through our dedicated Life of the Prophet classes, students gain a comprehensive understanding of the Prophet's exemplary life, his character, and his mission. Our instructors delve into various aspects of the Prophet's life, including his early years, revelation, struggles, triumphs, and the wisdom he imparted. This knowledge enables our students to draw inspiration from his noble example and apply his teachings in their own lives.

Turkish Language

In addition to our Islamic studies program, we provide Turkish language classes to our students. Learning Turkish serves as a gateway to comprehending the rich culture and historical heritage of Turkey, a country with a profound Islamic history. Our proficient instructors offer comprehensive language instruction, encompassing fundamental vocabulary, grammar, reading, writing, and conversational skills.
